CONTINENTAL AIRLINES AND FIRST HAWAIIAN BANK
ANNOUNCE THE ONEPASS® CREDIT CARD
(HAGÅTÑA, Guam, September 1, 2006) - First Hawaiian Bank and Continental Airlines today announced the offering of the OnePass credit card which enables cardholders to earn miles good for free travel on Continental Airlines. The announcement was made by Laura Lynn Dacanay, First Hawaiian Bank vice president, Guam and CNMI region manager and Wally Dias, Continental Micronesia vice president of marketing and sales.
The new OnePass MasterCard, which is accepted at over 20 million locations worldwide, is the only official credit card of Continental Airlines in Guam and CNMI which means miles earned are deposited directly into the customer's OnePass account. It also comes with the customer's photo on the reverse side to help prevent fraudulent use. The bank will offer both a personal and business version of the card.
“We're pleased to offer such a valuable credit card from the premier airline in Micronesia,” according to Dacanay. “Our Continental Airlines OnePass CheckCard debit card, launched earlier this year, has enjoyed considerable success so we know the power of putting our two brands together.”
Continental Airlines is equally enthusiastic about the partnership.
“The bank has a strong track record of marketing our product and we're confident that, with First Hawaiian's strong sales commitment, the new OnePass credit card will also enjoy strong consumer acceptance,” Dias said. “It has one of the best value propositions of any credit card in the region.”
- Those who apply for the card by October 31, 2006 and are approved will receive special offers, including:
- 5,000 OnePass bonus miles
- Double miles on all purchases made with the card through March 31, 2007
The card normally provides double miles when it's used to purchase Continental Airlines tickets and one mile for every dollar spent. Customers are encouraged to visit any First Hawaiian Bank branch to learn about additional specials.
