FIRST HAWAIIAN BANK OPENS
SUPERMARKET BRANCH IN NEW KAPAHULU SAFEWAY

(Honolulu, Hawaii, November 5, 2007) - First Hawaiian will open its new Kapahulu Market Branch on Friday, November 9, according to an announcement by Don Horner, First Hawaiian Bank president and chief executive officer. The new branch represents the bank's 58th in the state and will offer customers 7-day convenience banking.

The new 265-square foot branch, has built in high-tech features to streamline operations and provide quicker customer service. It will have multi-functional workstations and a teller cash recycler. The workstations will allow branch personnel to process transactions and open accounts. There will be two ATMs located inside the Safeway store and a 24-hour customer service hotline at the branch.

“With this new Kapahulu Market Branch, we're making it easier for our customers who shop at Safeway to take care of their banking needs in one location, seven days a week,” said Don Horner, president and chief executive officer. “This expansion into supermarket banking underscores our commitment to provide our customers with a new level of banking convenience.”

As part of the branch opening festivities, residents will be able to get a free $10 Safeway Gift Card when they open a Totally Free Checking account. Qualified applicants will also be offered a Priority Rewards credit card special with 2,500 bonus points as well as a 7.99% personal loan.

Ralph Yasunaga will serve as the branch manager at the new Kapahulu Market Branch. He has over 13 years of branch management experience. The branch is located in the Kapahulu Safeway at 888 Kapahulu Avenue. Its hours of operation are Monday through Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Sunday and holidays Noon to 4:00 p.m.
