FIRST HAWAIIAN BANK ANNOUNCES
VICE PRESIDENT PROMOTIONS

(Honolulu, Hawaii, December 27, 2006) - First Hawaiian Bank President and Chief Executive Officer Don Horner announced that the following officers have been promoted to the position of Vice President:

  • Miton K. Asano to vice president and senior IT Auditor, Audit Division
  • Charles K. Erskine to vice president and area manager, Kamuela Branch
  • Alice A. Herring to vice president, Credit Services Center Division
  • Laurae U. Imamura to vice president, Commercial Loan Center
  • Peter F. Nagata to vice president, Branch Real Estate Division
  • Karin van den Berg to vice president, Card Services Division
  • Kendall J. H. Wong to vice president, Kaneohe Branch
  • Aaron J. Young to vice president, Appraisal Services Center

Asano has worked in the Audit Division for over 10 years having re-joined First Hawaiian Bank in 2003. He is responsible for auditing the bank's information technology environment. He is a graduate of Kaimuki High School, earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Hawaii and has a Certified Information Systems Auditor designation.

Erskine, who joined First Hawaiian Bank in 1990 as a loan representative, is responsible for Honokaa, Waikoloa and Kamuela Branches. He is a graduate of Kamehameha School, the University of Hawaii at Hilo and the Pacific Coast Banking School in Seattle.

Herring joined First Hawaiian Bank in 1986 as a credit analyst, became senior analyst later that year and was promoted to officer in 1988. She worked in other areas in the bank before rejoining the Credit Department in 1993. Born in Oregon, she is a graduate of Dallas High School and received a bachelor's degree from the University of Oregon and a master's degree from the University of Hawaii.

Imamura joined First Hawaiian Bank in 1980 as a teller and has been in the Commercial Loan Center since 1990. She has held various positions including note clerk, exchange and collections teller, commercial loan processor, supervisor and assistant vice president. She is a graduate of Kailua High School.

Nagata is responsible for origination and underwriting of the bank's commercial real estate loans. He joined First Hawaiian Bank in 2002 as a real estate loan officer and was promoted to assistant vice president in 2005. He is a graduate of Kalani High School and earned a bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Hawaii.

Van den Berg, who has been with the Card Services Division since 2003, is responsible for compliance and product development. She began her career with First Hawaiian in 1989 as a TellerPhone clerk in the Call Center. She has since held several positions including Call Center technical support coordinator, Card Service compliance officer and assistant vice president. Born in Soesterberg, The Netherlands, she is a graduate of K.S.G De Breul High School and the ABA School of Bank Card Management.

Wong joined First Hawaiian Bank in 1992 as assistant branch manager with the bank's Creditcorp subsidiary, he later was named branch manager of the Kanohe Bay Branch in 2000 and was appointed branch manager of the Kaneohe Branch in 2004. He is a graduate of Moanalua High School and earned a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Hawaii.

Young started in the Appraisal Services Center as an assistant appraiser, was named real estate appraisal officer in 1990 and promoted to assistant vice president in 1995. He is a graduate of Maryknoll High School and earned a bachelor's degree in industrial technology from California State University in Los Angeles.
