Browsers and Security

Why is my browser's security important for Online Banking?
Most browsers allow you to access www.fhb.com and view informational pages. Your browser's security must be adequate to protect your privacy when you apply for a product, view your account information or do any other banking related activity that involves confidential financial information. To access your accounts and pay bills through FHB Online, you must use a browser that supports 128-bit encryption security.

What are FHB Online's requirements for browsers?
To access your accounts and pay bills through FHB Online, you must use a browser that supports 128-bit encryption security. This level of encryption is a standard feature that comes with the current versions of the Internet Explorer and Netscape browsers. Follow these instructions to determine whether you will need to update your browser's security:

  • If you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer, go to the FHB Online login page (https://fhbonline.fhb.com) and place your curser on or mouse over the lock icon on the bottom right of your browser. If the pop up message says “SSL Secured (128 bit)”, you can continue to use FHB Online as you normally do – no upgrade is required. If not, please go to the Microsoft website and install the most current version of Internet Explorer.
  • If you are using Netscape, go to the FHB Online login page (https://fhbonline.fhb.com) and click on the lock icon on the bottom of your browser to get to the Page Info. If you are using a browser with 128-bit encryption, it will say “High-grade Encryption (RC4 128 bit)” and you can continue to use FHB Online as you normally do – no upgrade is required. If not, please go to the Netscape website and install the most current version of the Netscape browser.
