First Hawaiian Bank’s Ed Untalan Recipient of 2021 Guam Business Magazine Executive of the Year
Guam, June 27, 2022 - First Hawaiian Bank (FHB) today announced that FHB Executive Vice President/Guam-CNMI Region Manager Ed Untalan was recognized by Guam Business Magazine as the 2021 Executive of the Year. In addition to managing responsibilities related to the Maite Banking Center Manager position, Untalan also oversees all FHB branches and operations on Guam (3 branches) and CNMI (2 branches).
Untalan is the 39th Guam Business Magazine Executive of the Year since the program began in 1983 and the third awardee from First Hawaiian Bank. FHB’s past honorees include John K Lee in 1998 and Laura-Lynn V. Dacanay in 2008. The program recognizes executives who have made outstanding contributions to the business communities of Micronesia, who have raised the bar in their fields, and who are considerably involved in the community. Untalan was recognized at the Guam Business Magazine Executive of the Year reception at the Hyatt Regency Guam on May 7.
“The thing that makes me the most proud is working with such great people, especially at First Hawaiian Bank. I've been here for the last 18 years and what I'm really proud of is the team,” Untalan said. “Over the last four years, we had two typhoons and the pandemic. But since 2016, we started a strategic plan for the region, and I'm proud to be able to sit back and see how much the team has accomplished. That gives me a lot of joy.”
