First Hawaiian Bank Announces One Promotion and Three New Hires

Honolulu, October 24, 2024 - First Hawaiian Bank Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer Bob Harrison announced the advancement of four individuals.

Sonja P.H. Hirasuna, Senior Vice President, Director of Financial Reporting, Planning and Analysis, and Assistant Controller, Financial Reporting, Planning and Analysis Division. Sonja P.H. Hirasuna has been promoted to senior vice president, director of financial reporting, planning and analysis, and assistant controller of First Hawaiian Bank’s Financial Reporting, Planning and Analysis Division. She is responsible for managing the Financial Reporting, Planning and Analysis Division which includes overseeing the budget and forecasting process for FHB as well as leading the External Reporting arm of the Company, responsible for completing filings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), and Federal Reserve Board (FRB). Hirasuna has 20 years of experience in accounting, 13 of which is in financial services. A graduate of Punahou School, Hirasuna earned her Bachelor of Science in Accounting and her Master of Accounting from Boston College. She serves on the Board of Directors and is the Board Secretary of Sacred Hearts Academy. Raised in Honolulu, Hirasuna currently resides in Manoa.

Leah Chun, Vice President and Employee Relations Manager, Human Resources Group, Workforce Services Division. Leah Chun has joined First Hawaiian Bank as vice president and employee relations manager of FHB’s Human Resources Group in the Workforce Services Division. She is responsible for counseling and guiding managers and employees in all areas of policy interpretation, concerns and grievances, investigations, corrective action, and performance improvement plans. She has nearly a decade of human resources experience. A Sacred Hearts Academy graduate, Chun received her Bachelor of Business Administration in Management and Marketing from the University of Portland. Raised in Laie, Chun currently resides in Mililani.

Leroy L. Kane, Vice President and Data Integration Development Manager, Data Integration and Development Team. Leroy L. Kane has joined First Hawaiian Bank as vice president and data integration development manager of FHB’s Data Integration and Development Team. He is responsible for leading and managing a team of developers to support FHB data integration development activities and initiatives, overseeing and supporting the bank’s batch data integration systems, and collaborating with external development contractors and release coordinators on data-related projects. He has 24 years of expertise in web development, data analytics, and business intelligence. Kane earned his Bachelor of Arts in Business Information Systems from Portland State University. He currently resides in Downtown Honolulu.

Shelly K. T. Kamakura, Vice President and Human Resources Manager, Workforce Services Division. Shelly K.T. Kamakura has recently joined First Hawaiian Bank bringing 24 years of banking experience. In her role, she focuses on employee relations and engagement. Kamakura is also the president of the Moiliili Community Center and a graduate of the Patsy Mink Leadership Alliance Program (2021). Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, she was raised in Hawaii and graduated from Roosevelt High School. She attended Kapiolani Community College, majoring in Liberal Arts, and currently resides in Makiki.
